Rambling With Ricketts

It Has Been A Long Time Coming

By Ed Ricketts
SPECIAL TO RAMLINKS

RAMSVILLE- After years of procrastinating with empty words of false hope, B.S. Carpenter, the Webmaster and creator of Ramlinks, has finally published the redesigned web site which is the Official Internet Connection For G-A Alumni.

After giving-up hope for any progress on this venture, I had returned to Monterey, California to pursue a career as Chief Contributor for Precious Poodles: Grooming Secrets and Tips. It came as quite a surprise when I received a registered letter with the postmark of Ramsville upon it! Inside contained a two page plea, from our dear webmaster, begging for my return as Chief Covert Journalist for his web page. After much consideration, I've once again put a flourishing career on hold and return to the Great Lake State to help an old friend and brother-at-arms.

The web site will continue to be a source of news concerning G-A Alumni, class reunions with a little local news thrown in. Rambler Classics will feature photos from past Rambler yearbooks. You can help in this effort by scanning photos' from your old yearbooks and emailing them to the webmaster. BlackOrchid '71 is the section devoted to the Class of 1971. Many folks have asked where the name "BlackOrchid" comes from. Well, that is the class flower for the Class of '71. This may have been something that resulted from the flower-child era of that time. The BlackOrchid Society is the reunion committee. Did your class select a flower? If so, let us know. Also your class motto and colors would be interesting to know.

Because of technical problems (our webmaster cannot figure-out the code) the automated Registration feature is not working at this time. For the time being, just email your name, mailing address, email address and class year. Ladies, please add your maiden name. It helps your fellow classmates figure out who you are.

In the future, this column will feature local news and ramblings of yours truly. Hopefully it will be updated regularly, but don't hold your breath.

It's great to be back among the friendly natives!
